About this Role

Job Title: Engineering Intern

As a Civil Engineering Intern, you will work under the guidance of experienced engineers to support design and construction activities for substation and transmission-related projects. You will assist with tasks such as site layout, grading design, stormwater analysis, and permitting support. This role is primarily office-based, with opportunities for occasional site visits.What You'll Do 
  • Assist in preparing civil design drawings and specifications using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Support stormwater calculations and drainage design under supervision.
  • Help coordinate survey data and contribute to site layout and grading plans.
  • Participate in developing cost estimates and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers and construction managers to ensure project goals are met.
  • Perform basic research and prepare reports or presentations as needed.
  • Attend team meetings and learn about design-build delivery methods.
What You'll Bring 
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Completed coursework in civil engineering fundamentals (e.g., site design, hydraulics).
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar software (coursework experience acceptable).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and take direction from senior engineers.
