Safety Intern
Mativ is a global leader in specialty materials headquartered in Alpharetta, Georgia. The Company offers a wide range of critical components and engineered solutions that connect, protect, and purify our world.
Mativ is currently searching for an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) co-op to join our team. This co-op position is an excellent opportunity to learn and contribute to corporate EHS strategic initiatives, and the important factors that make them successful. We are looking for an enthusiastic and results-driven intern to support the corporate environmental, health, and safety leadership team in deployment of key initiatives at the Mativ's Minneapolis Plant manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and/or contribute to defined projects focused on improved EHS data collection, management, communication, from facility to enterprise - level,
  • Assist in the development and implementation of corporate policies, procedures, training and programs such as; MNOSHA, CWA, RCRA, SPCC, and ESG.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety and environmental stewardship,
  • Develop working knowledge of federal, state and local environmental, health & safety regulations,
  • Interact with site EHS leaders and corporate staff on various projects and initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • Minimum GPA-3.0.
  • Prior Internship or work experience in a safety related position

    • Demonstrated project management skills and ability to balance multiple assignments at once

  • The hourly rate for this position starts at $22.00/hour.
