Overview
TRC is seeking an Environmental Engineer/Geologist/Scientist to join our Houston, TX Engineering, Construction, and Remediation team. This position would be part of a skilled team that works closely with Project Managers and other technical leads providing technical support for site investigation, due diligence, groundwater monitoring, remediation, and regulatory compliance projects.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, and personable individual with an eye for detail, a willingness to learn, and a desire to be part of a growing and high performing team.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in a variety of fieldwork including environmental assessments, site inspections, remediation projects, and contractor oversight.
  • Collaborate with project teams on site assessment, investigation, development of remedial strategy, and attainment of closure requirements under State regulations.
  • Help manage project tasks and provide technical experience to ensure internal and external expectations are met for scope and budget.
  • Interpret hydrogeological and chemical data.
  • Assist with preparation of technical correspondence, project proposals, technical reports, work plans, and project specifications including cost estimates and project budgets.
  • Travel regionally and state-wide on short- and long-term assignments.

Qualifications
  • Possess a bachelor's degree or higher in environmental engineering, environmental sciences, or geology from an accredited university.
  • Two to five years of prior work experience in the field of environmental consulting.
  • Excellent writing, communication, and computer skills.
  • Demonstrated work experience, or interest in any of the following areas: due diligence/Phase I ESAs, Phase II ESAs, soil and/or groundwater remediation, SWPPP/SPCC preparation, environmental compliance, treatment process design and evaluations, and/or design and implementation of on-site remediation technologies.
  • Working knowledge of, or interest in learning environmental regulations (TRRP, RCRA, NPDES/TPDES, CERCLA, etc.) and Texas regulatory agencies (TCEQ, RRC, TxDOT, etc.)
  • Willingness to learn to manage project tasks (field and office) and subcontractors.
  • Must have a sense of urgency, be self-motivated, and can prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER health and safety training certificate a plus but not a requirement.
  • EIT or GIT highly preferred.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.
Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
