Job description

A career as a Data Scientist in the Modelling and Risk Strategy team at National Bank involves using the performance data of our models to analyse and make recommendations on our models and using behavioural data to develop decision-making strategies. this is in order to support our organisation's growth and risk management objectives. This job allows you to have a positive impact on our organisation thanks to your statistical and modelling skills and credit risk knowledge. 


Your job 

  • Monitor and analyse the performance of decision models for collection and communicate their findings to senior management on a monthly basis in dedicated forums 
  • Develop decision models to meet a business need for the Collection or Origination of Personal financing business lines 
  • Work in an agile manner by incremental delivery and having the report evaluated based on the comments received 
  • Communicate progress weekly to your manager and other team members. 


Your team 

Within the Risk Models and Strategies, Collection, Recovery and Recovery sector, you are part of a large team of 30 colleagues and report to the Senior Manager - risk models and strategies. Prerequisites 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a program related to the role, such as statistics, actuarial science, data science or business analytics 
  • Proficiency in statistical/econometric and machine learning models 
  • Proficiency in SAS/SQL statistical programming tools (R or Python) 
  • Proficiency in the Power BI visualisation tool.
