The Role

We are looking for a talented National Accounts Data and Reporting Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for National Accounts' business and customer reporting, including designing new report requests, collaborating with IT as needed to gain access to necessary data, and providing critical reporting to US National Accounts leadership. You will work closely with Implementation, Data Validation, and Corporate IT teams to translate complex data sets into actionable business insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partners with users in US National Accounts to understand business processes and critical data and systems.

  • Understands data field definitions as determined by Corporate IT and addresses any discrepancies in how these are used by the US National Accounts team.

  • Coordinates with Implementation and Data Validation teams to ensure mutual understanding of the use of systems and specific data fields, including potential impact to customers, employees, suppliers, processes, systems, and data from any changes made by Corporate IT.

  • Works with National Accounts stakeholders to identify, define, and monitor key performance measures critical for National Accounts' success.

  • Designs and deploys reports through data collection, transformation, modelling, presentation, and other strategies that demonstrate business insight.

  • Ensures that for each field used in KPI and other reporting, appropriate preventative and detective controls are in place to identify and remediate data that does not conform to expected practices.

  • Balances day-to-day support of US National Account operations with longer term projects.

  • Coordinates with GFL Corporate IT to obtain necessary access to datasets, tools, and company-wide reporting mechanisms for self and applicable team members as appropriate.

  • Accurately documents all aspects of daily work: catalogues, cases, diagrams, matrices, process flows and specifications.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: Prior experience (2-4 years) in a Data Engineering/BI Analyst role. Demonstrated familiarity with query languages and reporting packages.

  • Education: Minimum high school diploma or GED.

  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Plans, schedules, and monitors own work competently within limited deadlines.

  • Soft Skills: Demonstrated curiosity in how data can be leveraged to help users make decisions. Demonstrates an analytical and systematic approach to problem solving. Understands the wider field of information, and how own role relates to other roles and to other departments/functions.

  • Bonus Points: Associate or Bachelor's degree in a computer-related field. Knowledge of Tower and TRUX systems. Experience using Cognos, Power BI, and/or other reporting tools.
