CDL Truck Driver โ€“ Environmental Emergency Response and Remediation
Location: Cleveland, Ohio
Schedule: On-call rotation required (24/7 emergency response)

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and dependable CDL Truck Driver to join our Environmental Emergency Response team. This role is critical to responding to environmental incidents such as hazardous material spills, transportation accidents, and industrial releases. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced, high-responsibility situations and takes pride in protecting people, property, and the environment during emergency events.
Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency environmental incidents including hazardous material spills, fuel releases, and industrial accidents
  • Safely operate CDL vehicles such as vacuum trucks, roll-off trucks, and support equipment during emergency and non-emergency response operations
  • Transport, load, and unload hazardous and non-hazardous materials in compliance with DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate driver logs, shipping papers, and waste manifests
  • Assist emergency response and field teams with containment, cleanup, decontamination, and equipment setup
  • Maintain readiness for on-call emergency response, including nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
  • Use appropriate PPE and strictly follow site-specific health and safety plans
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, incident commanders, clients, and regulatory personnel
Required Qualifications
  • Valid CDL Class A or Class B license
  • Clean driving record and ability to meet company motor vehicle and insurance requirements
  • Ability to remain calm, focused, and safety-oriented in emergency situations
  • Willingness to work on-call, extended hours, and respond rapidly to emergency events
  • Physically capable of working in demanding conditions, including adverse weather and hazardous environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform hands-on field support as required
Preferred Qualifications
  • HAZMAT and Tanker endorsements
  • Previous experience in emergency response, environmental services, industrial services, or spill response
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (or willingness to obtain; training provided)
  • Experience working under Incident Command System (ICS) or similar response frameworks
