Responsibilities

The Environmental Assistant Staff Project Manager supports environmental consulting projects through fieldwork, data collection, analysis, and project coordination activities. This role provides foundational experience in environmental consulting services, including due diligence, assessment, remediation, and compliance. The Environmental Assistant Staff Project Manager develops technical competency, project understanding, and early project management skills under supervision while demonstrating ECS Core Values.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with groundwater, soil, and media sampling investigations
  • Supports boring layouts and evaluates site access with oversight
  • Assists with remediation system installation, operation, and maintenance
  • Supports underground storage tank (UST) assessments
  • Documents site conditions and communicates findings to supervisors
  • Interacts and collaborates with staff members on a variety of environmental projects
  • Attends project meetings with senior staff and participates in project discussions
  • Interfaces with contractors, clients, and site personnel during field activities
  • Communicates daily with project teams and keeps supervisors informed of site conditions and project needs
  • Implements field tasks and project activities as directed by senior staff
  • Assists with scheduling, training, and oversight of environmental technicians
  • Supports project setup and implementation under supervision
  • Collects, documents, and reports field observations accurately
  • Assists with environmental sampling, data collection, and analysis
  • Supports preparation of reports, calculations, and project documentation
  • Participates in project coordination, including tracking tasks and deliverables
  • Assists with proposal preparation and project planning activities
  • Performs additional technical and project support duties as assigned
 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Natural or Environmental Science, Geology, or other degree relevant to the practice of Environmental Consulting

  • 0 years of related experience

  • If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver’s license is required
  • Basic knowledge of environmental principles and applications.
  • Basic knowledge of environmental permitting processes, regulations, and test methods
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn, take direction, and develop professionally
  • Basic decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in outdoor environments and varying site conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry field equipment (~40 lbs)
  • Must have the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow all local and state laws, road/driving regulations, and Company policies

The expected pay range for this role and location is $20-$25/hour. The final agreed-upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
