Summary

A growing general contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support ground-up multifamily construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and ownership teams to help maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement, and documentation.

Projects may include multifamily, affordable housing, mixed-use, podium, wrap, urban infill, and residential developments. This is a strong opportunity for someone looking to continue growing toward a Project Manager role while gaining exposure across all phases of construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Project Managers with day-to-day project execution from preconstruction through closeout
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project documentation
  • Coordinate with Superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants
  • Assist with procurement and tracking of materials and long-lead items
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, cost tracking, and financial reporting
  • Participate in owner meetings, subcontractor meetings, and project coordination meetings
  • Review drawings and specifications to identify coordination issues
  • Assist with schedule updates, milestone tracking, and reporting
  • Support project closeout activities including punch lists and turnover documentation
  • Help maintain schedule and budget goals through proactive coordination
  • Work closely with field teams to ensure alignment between office and field operations

Requirements
  • 2–5+ years of experience as an Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, or similar role
  • Ground-up multifamily construction experience required
  • Experience with podium, wrap, affordable housing, mixed-use, wood-frame, or urban infill projects preferred
  • Strong understanding of scheduling, project documentation, and subcontractor coordination
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience supporting procurement, budgeting, and project controls preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments

Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, and Microsoft Office
  • Experience on projects ranging from 50–300+ units preferred

Compensation & Benefits
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid holidays and PTO
  • Vehicle allowance or reimbursement program
  • Strong pipeline of multifamily work and long-term growth opportunities
