Job description

Position & Office Overview
Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is seeking a motivated Environmental Assistant Staff Project Manager. This field-based role focuses on third-party tank inspections as well as performing tasks assigned by senior staff, with office responsibilities increasing as experience grows. Ideal candidates bring a strong customer service mindset and alignment with ECS Core Values
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Complete Maryland Department of the Environment Third Party Tank Inspections and requisite repairs of deficiencies
  • Interact and collaborate with staff members on a variety of projects
  • Attend project meetings with senior staff as requested
  • Interface with contractors and other site personnel on project sites daily
  • Keep supervisor informed of changing site conditions and/or additional testing requested on project sites.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Maryland Certified UST System Inspector Certification is required
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required
  • Preferred Bachelor and/or Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other Engineering degree applicable to Environmental Consulting
  • If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required

Skills and Abilities
  • Basic knowledge of environmental principles and applications.
  • Basic knowledge of permitting processes, environmental regulations, and environmental test methods
  • Interest in project management, consulting, and business development.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds a number of times each day and walk on uneven ground through various terrains.

The expected pay range for this role and location is $23-$28/hour. The final agreed-upon compensation will be determined based on specific location and other individual qualifications.
