Overview
TRC is seeking an experienced Industrial Hygienist/ Environmental Scientist to join our Woburn or Braintree, MA offices. This position would be working within our Building Sciences and Industrial Hygiene business within our Environmental Sector. Current or prior certification as an Asbestos Inspector and/or Project Monitor is required.
Responsibilities
  • Inspection for asbestos, mold, lead-based paint, and PCBs.
  • Water intrusion investigation and or water leak investigation.
  • Perform project oversight and coordination with contractors.
  • Collect air samples as required by various regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare project chain of custody.
  • Prepare project daily logs.
  • Interact between client and contractors.
  • Work with regulatory agencies.
  • Read project specifications and drawings
  • Prepare reports.
  • Travel throughout Massachusetts and New England region is expected.

Qualifications
  • 1-10 years of experience in the hazardous building materials, indoor air quality, industrial hygiene industry is required.
  • Current or prior certification as an Asbestos Inspector and Project Monitor is required
  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Science or Engineering related field.
  • Must be able to read project specifications and drawings.
  • Must have prior experience in various aspects of abatement projects.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to various work schedules and situations related to emergency response scenarios.
  • Intuitive and creative thinker. Understanding of their surroundings and reason the services are being provided. A consultative demeanor and ability to work with customers / clients and offers solutions when needed.
  • Work as a team player.
  • Ability to carry and climb ladders and being able to use hand and power tools.
  • Be able to wear a respirator, safety harness and other safety equipment as needed.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, physical and motor vehicle records check.
  • Valid Driver's License is required.
  • Must be able to commute to project sites as needed.
