Environmental Field Technician
Tampa, Florida - Full-Time | This position is primarily field-based and requires frequent travel throughout Florida with occasional overnight travel.Position Summary:

The Environmental Field Technician performs environmental sampling, field investigations, remediation support, and environmental monitoring activities throughout Florida. Working alongside Project Managers, Scientists, Engineers, and Geologists, this position plays a critical role in collecting accurate environmental data while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

What You'll Do:
  • Collect soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and air samples.
  • Assist with environmental site assessments, remediation projects, groundwater monitoring, and compliance inspections.
  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate environmental sampling equipment.
  • Support drilling activities and subcontractor oversight.
  • Install and monitor groundwater wells and remediation equipment.
  • Prepare field logs, chain-of-custody forms, and daily reports.
  • Follow OSHA requirements and company Health & Safety policies.
  • Travel throughout Florida to support projects.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of environmental field experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
Preferred Experience:
  • OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER (or ability to obtain).
  • Groundwater monitoring and sampling.
  • Soil and groundwater remediation.
  • FDEP regulations and field procedures.
  • GPS/electronic field data collection.
  • Environmental drilling oversight.
  • Mechanical aptitude with pumps and remediation equipment.
Compensation & Benefits

$20.00 to $27.00 per hour, depending on experience, certifications, and field capabilities. Overtime and travel opportunities available.
