We have an immediate opening for an experienced Environmental Project Manager to lead a team of environmental specialists to ensure compliance on a high-profile construction project involving high-voltage transmission lines, substations, and telecom facilities in Nevada. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced environmental professional to support a team of specialists and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in the transmission line industry and a strong foundation in environmental compliance practices. Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a dedicated team of environmental specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Ensure adherence to all environmental regulations and standards set by federal, state, and local agencies, specifically emphasizing compliance with Bureau of Land Management (BLM) requirements.
  • Effectively communicate environmental restrictions and concerns with construction management, crews, and schedulers to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project compliance plans, including SWPPP, SPCC, dust management, reclamation strategies, etc.
  • Provide support to construction teams during pre-construction, planning, and permitting activities.
  • Conduct and oversee environmental impact assessments, site evaluations, and risk assessments.
  • Manage the acquisition of essential environmental and local permits, ensuring full compliance with all conditions and stipulations.
  • Work closely with the Ownerโ€™s environmental team and CIC to ensure environmental compliance, including obtaining necessary variances.
  • Coordinate with regulatory agencies and other stakeholders to address environmental concerns and ensure transparent and effective communication.
  • Implement and oversee environmental monitoring programs, maintaining accurate records and preparing detailed reports for regulatory agencies, internal company, and Owner requirements.
  • Develop and implement effective mitigation strategies to minimize environmental impacts and ensure the project's success.
  • Provide ongoing training and guidance to team members and project staff on environmental best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to and manage environmental incidents, ensuring appropriate actions are taken to mitigate impacts and report to relevant authorities.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Wildlife Biology, Ecology, or a related field (Advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental compliance, with significant experience in constructing transmission lines or the energy industry.
  • Experience conducting pre-construction surveys, SWPPP inspections, and biological monitoring.
  • Proven experience working with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies, particularly the BLM in the western United States.
  • Preferred certifications: CISEC, CESSWI, or CPESC.
