Summary:

The Sr. Environment Specialist will use their experience to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and control hazards in the workplace. In this role, you will evaluate workplace compliance with local, state and federal regulations for consistent implementation of company EH&S standards and programs. You will also perform jobsite auditing and conduct incident investigations to ensure compliance with applicable EH&S regulations and standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Support managing the company’s permitting activities, including, but not limited to, air, waste, storm water, wastewater permits and other requirements
  • Support processes to ensure all permitting and reporting complies with company standards & federal/state/local environmental regulations
  • Collaborate with other groups and consultants to complete applications accurately and on time
  • Assist with compiling all relevant information to complete facility permits
  • Communicate with federal, state and local agencies as necessary
  • Provide technical expertise and assistance to LG Energy Solution sites regarding environmental regulations
  • Provide leadership with updates on the application, reporting status, and budget plan
  • Provide overall support within the EHS team, as assigned
  • Maintain cleanliness at the worksite in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
    • Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
    • Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in environmental reporting and regulatory experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or related field required, MBA or MS preferred, or equivalent, relevant experience
  • Bilingual in Korean and English

  • MS Office Suite
  • Strong technical skills to carry out complex permitting projects
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and give direction to others
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with both internal and external customers and regulatory agencies
  • Strong sense of urgency and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel to other LG Energy Solution sites as needed
