This job post has expired 1 day ago. Applications are no longer accepted.

Key responsibilities

  • Learn and assist with route operations, including reviewing route activity and understanding scheduling and management processes.

Job description

COMMERCIAL CLEANING TECHNICIAN – ROUTE OPERATIONS

$27/hour | Full-Time

BEFORE YOU APPLY — PLEASE READ

This is primarily a HANDS-ON COMMERCIAL CLEANING position. Approximately 75% of this job is cleaning commercial accounts. The remaining 25% involves learning and assisting with route operations and providing backup cleaning coverage when a technician cannot work.

This is NOT a supervisory or management position. You will not manage, discipline, or supervise other technicians.

Please do not apply if you are looking for a route-monitoring, dispatch, office, or management-only position.

YOU MUST BE ABLE TO:

  • Perform hands-on commercial cleaning on a daily basis
  • Fill in for technicians who call out, have an emergency, or are taking a scheduled day off
  • Work different routes and varying start and stop times
  • Start early mornings when required by the route
  • Work one weekend day every week
  • Work after 5:00 PM when required by the route
  • Drive a company vehicle during work hours
  • Learn our route management application
  • Learn how our routes are scheduled and managed

THE POSITION

We are looking for a reliable, flexible Commercial Cleaning Technician who is interested in learning the operational side of our business. You will be trained to perform all cleaning services for our commercial clients.

In addition to your cleaning responsibilities, you will be trained on our route management application and scheduling process. You will learn how to review route activity, identify when a technician's service time appears unusually long or short, and understand how our routes are scheduled and managed. The most important responsibility on the operations side is backup coverage. When a technician is unable to work because of a call-out, emergency, or scheduled day off, you will be expected to step in and perform the cleaning on that route.

You are not being hired to supervise technicians. You are being hired as a cleaning technician who will also be cross-trained in route operations.

THIS IS A ROUTE-BASED JOB

Each day can be different. Start and stop times will vary depending on the routes you are assigned and the coverage needed. You must be comfortable with:

  • Early morning starts
  • Weekday work
  • One weekend day every week
  • Occasional work after 5:00 PM
  • Working at different commercial locations
  • Changing assignments when coverage is needed

DRIVER REQUIREMENT — READ CAREFULLY

You will drive a company vehicle during work hours, so meeting our driving and insurance requirements is mandatory. After successfully completing the phone interview, you will be required to provide a copy of your valid driver's license before you can advance to an on-site interview. This is required for insurability purposes by our insurance company. Our insurance company will conduct a comprehensive driving record review.

DO NOT APPLY IF, WITHIN THE LAST 10 YEARS, YOU HAVE HAD:

  • Moving violations
  • At-fault accidents
  • DUI/DWI
  • License suspension

Do not rely solely on a driving record you obtain from the DMV. Our insurance company conducts its own review to determine whether you are insurable to drive a company vehicle.

DO NOT APPLY IF:

  1. You are only interested in the route operations portion of the position
  2. You are looking for a supervisory, management, dispatch, or office position
  3. You are unwilling to perform hands-on commercial cleaning
  4. You cannot provide backup coverage when a technician is unavailable
  5. You cannot work one weekend day every week
  6. You cannot work after 5:00 PM when required by the route
  7. You cannot start early mornings when required
  8. You do not have a valid driver's license
  9. You do not have reliable transportation to and from work
  10. You cannot provide verifiable employment history
  11. You do not speak English
  12. You have had a moving violation, at-fault accident, DUI/DWI, or license suspension within the last 10 years

WHAT WE PROVIDE

  • $27/hour
  • Full-time employment
  • Company vehicle during work hours
  • Paid training
  • Free uniforms
  • Cell phone allowance
  • 100% company-paid dental and vision insurance
  • Performance bonuses
  • Paid holidays
  • 401(k)
  • Schedule flexibility
  • Company vehicle during work hours

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for someone who is dependable, flexible, detail-oriented, and willing to work.

You do not need to have prior route-management experience. We will train you. However, you must be comfortable with technology, able to learn our systems and procedures, and willing to step in and clean when coverage is needed.

If you want a hands-on cleaning position with the opportunity to learn the operational side of a commercial cleaning company, we encourage you to apply.

Please read this posting carefully before applying. Candidates who do not meet the requirements will not advance in the hiring process.
