SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Director of Business Development, ESG, is responsible for developing a comprehensive go to market strategy for market leading OEM customers as well as strategic distribution partners that require private label tape and adhesive supplies.  Key markets will include construction/building envelope in residential, multi-family and commercial construction.  A sharp focus will be given to existing technologies that have already been developed and manufactured.  Additional focus areas could include green energy and other mega-trend markets that have been identified through strategic corporate planning. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop a comprehensive and aligned business development plan
  • Develop and maintain market intelligence in the building and construction channel, identifying key potential customers, product opportunities, and market trends
  • Implement business development plan with assistance of product managers and project managers
  • Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with customers and channel partners and affiliates
  • Work to improve customer acquisition and retention
  • Provide Product Management with market requirements and opportunities
  • Work with executive team to understand and deliver on internal business requirements
  • Help Marketing produce effective marketing communications and campaigns
  • Support the Sales organization by providing a consultative sales methodology in the channel
  • Work with the executive team to facilitate business planning & reporting
  • Develop a strategic decision-making & governance process
  • Lead project implementations
  • Facilitate change management initiatives to ensure the organization is equipped with adequate infrastructure & processes to support growth; make recommendations for the organization by assessing ROI, risk, and cost/benefit

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or the physical sciences or equivalent experience
  • MBA preferred, but not required
  • 20+ years’ experience in a business development capacity, sales, marketing, and or technical support
  • Exceptional sales, marketing, customer service, and decision-making skills
  • Strong leadership, project management & time management skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Passion for our industry, solid relationships with network of colleagues, and teamwork mentality
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and work with senior level executives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
  • Solid business acumen and problem-solving skills
  • Highly proficient with computer applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully present information and recommendations to a customer
  • Travel – Anticipate 30% to 50% travel.
