Envelope Packer/Quality Operator
Join our team and play a vital role in high-quality envelope manufacturing!
Job Summary
We are seeking a Packer/Quality Operator to ensure the quality and accuracy of our envelope manufacturing process. This role involves inspecting envelopes, packing finished products, completing necessary paperwork, and supporting overall production operations. Training provided.
Key Responsibilities
  • Verify that envelope production matches job specifications.
  • Inspect the work from previous shifts for quality and proper packing.
  • Check box and carton count on skids, immediately reporting discrepancies.
  • Remove, inspect, and pack finished envelopes, discard/replace defective products.
  • Conduct quality checks for proper adhesion, tears, splits, sizing, and print accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including waste removal and floor mopping.
  • Label and mark cartons as instructed, ensuring proper tracking with date stamps.
  • Record production data accurately in machine work logs.
  • Assist in machine setup, clearing jams, and supporting adjustments made by the Adjuster.
  • Train and mentor Packer/Quality Operator Trainees as needed.
  • Follow safety and operational procedures, actively participating in Lean initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively across shifts to ensure a smooth transition and continuity of work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Compensation
$16.00 per hour (union regulated)
Shift Schedule - includes various weekends
  • 2nd Shift: 4pm - 12am, Monday thru Friday
  • 3rd Shift: 12am - 8am, Sunday thru Thursday

Skills & Qualifications
  • Age 18 and older
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, work instructions, and manuals
  • Strong attention to detail, communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic math skills including ability to read a ruler
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Stand for extended periods - safety footwear is required
  • Perform repetitive hand and wrist movements for precise handling
  • Occasionally walk, reach, bend, kneel
  • Lift and move up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
  • Work in an environment with moving machinery and airborne particles
  • Tolerate loud noise levels - hearing protection is required
  • Other required abilities include verifying color and print quality
