Title: AI consultant/Architect
Location: Columbia, SC
Position type: W2 contract

Job Description
  • Provide technical expertise in the evaluation, design, and responsible implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions.
  • Support the development and execution of AI strategies aligned with organizational goals and business objectives.
  • Participate in AI use-case and vendor review processes, ensuring compliance with established governance, security, privacy, and operational standards.
  • Promote the adoption of standardized AI processes, frameworks, and best practices across the organization.
  • Design secure AI architectures and develop reusable technical patterns for enterprise AI implementations.
  • Develop AI use cases, prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and feasibility assessments to validate AI solutions.
  • Evaluate AI products, platforms, tools, models, and services to determine technical feasibility and business value.
  • Design and implement AI agents and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
  • Work with generative AI platforms including ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and similar technologies.
  • Utilize AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate software development, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Define AI success criteria, key performance indicators (KPIs), and production monitoring measures.
  • Develop dashboards and reports to measure AI adoption, performance, cost, risk, and operational outcomes.
  • Integrate AI capabilities with Microsoft Azure and AWS cloud environments.
  • Assist business units in identifying AI opportunities, assessing risks, and implementing secure AI solutions.
  • Maintain expertise in emerging AI technologies, industry trends, and enterprise AI best practices.
  • Communicate technical concepts effectively through documentation, presentations, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Support complex AI initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional technical and business teams. 
Required Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 1+ year of proven experience establishing proof-of-concept success criteria and evaluating AI solutions against defined criteria.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, and comparable generative AI platforms.
  • 2+ years of experience designing and implementing AI agents and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.
  • 1+ year of experience using AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • 1+ year of experience defining AI use-case success criteria, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and production monitoring measures.
  • 1+ year of experience building dashboards and reports for AI adoption, performance, cost, risk, and operational outcomes.
  • 1+ year of hands-on experience integrating AI capabilities with Microsoft Azure and AWS.
  • Strong communication, technical documentation, and knowledge-transfer skills.
  • Advanced report writing and presentation skills.
  • Experience working on complex technical projects. 
Preferred Skills
  • Background in a variety of programming languages and programming principles.
  • Familiarity with Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs), transformers, Natural Language Processing (NLP), image classification, and time-series data.
  • Experience with data tools and techniques for storing, retrieving, and cleaning data.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting enterprise AI strategy, governance, and implementation initiatives.
