We are seeking a highly experienced and result-driven Quality Control Technician. This individual will support our Quality Control (QC) team with ensuring the quality of all products through measurement, comparison with OEM samples, and reading blueprints. 

  • The ideal candidate will operate PIT equipment in support of QC operations and play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality, performance, and market success of our caliper products. 
  • They will be responsible for upholding quality standards, reviewing the existing assortment, and working with the continuous improvement solutions. 
  • This includes evaluating blueprints or creating line drawings in CAD, assessing individual product component specifications, working with testing facilities on quality standards, and partnering with sourcing to ensure caliper specifications are in line with what is expected. 
  • Performs incoming receiving inspection and special test procedures as needed
  • Conducts new product approval process and new product log versus the OEM sample or a blueprint
  • Measure parts to ensure that they are within specifications
  • Perform random quality and safety audits on the floor in all departments
  • Operates PIT equipment to provide support to daily QC operations.
  • Maintain quality procedures and perform audits to verify that they are being followed reporting results weekly
  • Notify QC Team Lead (s) of DMR's and quality issues
  • In the event of a DMR, make sure the quarantine procedure is executed promptly and completely to make sure no defective product is shipped out.
  • Maintains QC hold room and monitors status with the intent of timely disposition
  • Ensure that other employees are aware of proper quality inspection activities
  • Issues deviation requests for management approval
  • Manage facility safety and environmental programs including MSDS
  • Maintains metrology equipment and calibration records
  • Implements continuous improvement.

Requirements

Education:

  • High School      Diploma / GED Equivalent

Experience:

  • Previous quality control experience in manufacturing and/or warehouse distributions is a plus (1+ year(s))
  • Previous blueprint reading experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management System software experience is a plus

License/Certifications: 

  • Forklift/PIT Operation Certification

Software:

  • Writing and Auditing TS16949 Procedures is a plus
  • Microsoft Office: Excel (VLOOKUP and graphs) is a plus
  • Moderate knowledge of 8D problem-solving, PPAP is a plus
  • Knowledge of Warehouse Management System software experience is a plus

Language: 

  • No requirement, English preferred based on metric reading material

Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • High Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to handle and mitigate potential conflicts between Quality and Operations departments
  • Must have the ability to lift +25 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, stoop or bend for a continuous 8-hour period.
  • Knowledge of metrology and tolerancing is a plus
  • Moderate knowledge of statistics and sampling methods is a plus
