Job description

Position Summary
Kirwan Surgical Products is seeking a detail-oriented Calibration Technician/QC Inspector to support the maintenance, calibration, and documentation of measurement and testing equipment used in the manufacturing and quality control of precision surgical instruments. This role helps ensure all equipment meets regulatory, quality, and internal standards to support our commitment to product excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine calibration, verification, and maintenance of measuring and testing equipment used in production and quality inspection
  • Maintain calibration records and documentation in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate external calibration services and track equipment sent to third-party vendors
  • Identify and troubleshoot out-of-tolerance equipment, documenting findings and supporting corrective actions
  • Ensure all equipment is properly labeled and within calibration intervals
  • Assist with equipment setup, validation, and preventative maintenance as needed
  • Support internal and external audits by providing calibration records and documentation
  • Work collaboratively with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to maintain equipment reliability
  • Associate degree or technical certification in engineering technology, electronics, metrology, or a related field preferred
  • 1–3 years of calibration or metrology experience in a manufacturing or regulated environment preferred

  • Familiarity with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators, etc.)

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills

  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications

  • Basic computer skills and experience with calibration management systems or databases is a plus

  • Experience in medical device manufacturing or ISO/FDA regulated environments is helpful but not required

Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time. Also, may be required to lift up to 20 lbs.
