Job description

Mechanical Quality Control Technician
Location: Chesapeake, VA
Shift: Monday - Friday, 6 AM- 2:30 PM
Type: Direct Hire
About the company:
Our client is one of the largest independently owned motor and pump shops in the U.S. that focuses on rebuilding and remanufacturing rotating electrical and mechanical equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform dimensional measurements and visual inspection of disassembled electric motors and associated parts to determine necessary repairs.
- Verification of new and repaired parts following machining against drawing or specified requirements.
- Perform in-process surveillance and release completed motors for shipment.
- Complete all required paperwork completely and legibly.

- Minimum of 3 years of QC experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Must have years of hands-on experience using inside and outside micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, depth micrometers, and various other testing equipment.
- Must have accurate and legible recordkeeping skills.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Must be able to meet physical requirements for position, including but not limited to ability to be on feet for an extended period, bend/stoop/kneel as needed, use of both hands, and ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Former military mechanical technician a plus
