Traffic Control Quality Auditor

Full Time Albuquerque, NM, US

3 days ago Requisition ID: 1229

Salary Range: $60,000.00 To $80,000.00 Annually

The Quality Control Agent (QCA) is responsible for independently verifying operational reality across offices, yards, equipment, and active work zones. The role exists to ensure that safety, compliance, efficiency, and equipment standards are not only documented, but accurately executed in the field. Unlike operational or supervisory roles, the QCA does not manage personnel or schedules. Instead, the agent serves as an objective, evidence-driven evaluator who identifies gaps, validates corrective actions, and closes the quality loop between policy, reporting, and realworld execution. The QCA is a cornerstone role within the Quality Control Division, providing reliable field intelligence that leadership uses to make informed operational, safety, and strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct structured audits of active work zones, offices, yards, and training facilities using approved Quality Control Division tools and standards.
  • Verify compliance with traffic control layouts, site-specific safety protocols, and company policy.
  • Evaluate training environments and retraining practices for effectiveness and readiness.
  • Identify unsafe conditions, at-risk behaviours, and deviations from required standards.
  • Escalate critical safety risks in accordance with defined protocols to ensure immediate mitigation and verify that corrective actions initiated.
  • Inventory traffic control equipment, Guardian Smart Flaggers, signage, batteries, vehicles, and trailers.
  • Confirm operational readiness, preventative maintenance status, and proper storage practices.
  • Coordinate findings with Asset Management and Integration teams when deficiencies are identified.
  • Maintain high standards of report clarity, accuracy, and objectivity.
  • Identify recurring deficiencies, systemic gaps, or process breakdowns across inspections.
  • Communicate emerging trends to Quality Control management for broader intervention or task-force deployment.
  • Interface professionally with Operations, Safety, Integration, Training, Dispatch, and Asset Management teams.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in traffic control, and traffic control field operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of traffic control setups, signage, PPE requirements, and work zone safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in field environments.
  • Proficiency with mobile technology, digital forms, and evidence-based reporting.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license with ability to travel extensively.

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in quality control, auditing, inspection, or safety oversight roles.
  • Familiarity with Guardian Smart Flaggers or similar traffic control technology.
  • ISO 9001 internal audit exposure or continuous improvement training.
  • Experience working across multiple regions or markets.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong observational and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Professional, unbiased communication style.
  • Ability to identify patterns without overstepping operational authority.
  • Comfort working in dynamic, outdoor, and variable weather conditions.
  • Strong time management and travel readiness.

Working Conditions:

  • Regular travel across regions and markets.
  • Field work in live traffic environments and outdoor conditions.
  • Occasional extended hours based on deployment needs.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs as required
  • Dental care
  • Disability insurance
  • Extended health care
  • Life insurance
  • Paid time off
  • RRSP match
  • Wellness program
