Job description

Entry Level Psychology - Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) – Paid Training 

Hourly Pay: $24-28


Hours: Afternoon/evening; part-time

What You’ll Do

  • Support the health, wellness, and safety of the child
  • Encourage and assist with goals related to daily living skills (healthy habits, personal care, independence)
  • Help children build safe and appropriate peer and adult relationships
  • Teach skills that improve self-awareness, social awareness, and community integration
  • Maintain accurate and compliant documentation of progress and behaviors
  • Implement behavior support strategies as outlined in the treatment plan
  • Report suspected abuse or neglect promptly and appropriately
  • Use evidence-based techniques such as prompting, modeling, instruction, and reinforcement
  • Provide transportation as needed for appointments and community activities
  • Encourage communication, decision-making, confidence, and access to needed services

What You Need

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • English proficiency
  • Current CPR card
  • Current health screening (per state requirements)
  • Ability to complete the Maine BHP Certificate within 1 year of hire (Maxim provides paid training)
