Practical Nursing Instructor – Put Your Nursing Experience to Work

(No Teaching Experience Needed)

Are you an experienced nurse who’s feeling the burnout — long shifts, weekends, holidays, staffing shortages, and constant physical demands?

This is your opportunity to stay in nursing, share what you know, and build a stable, meaningful career shaping the next generation of Practical Nurses.

We’re looking for skilled nurses, not career educators. If you know nursing, we’ll teach you how to teach.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Practical Nursing Instructor, you’ll bring real-world nursing experience into the classroom and lab, helping students connect theory to what actually happens in patient care settings.

You will:

  • Teach practical nursing concepts through classroom instruction, skills lab demonstrations, and clinical guidance
  • Share real clinical experiences, best practices, and patient-care insights
  • Mentor students at all stages of learning — from foundational skills to clinical readiness
  • Prepare students for NCLEX-PN success and entry-level nursing roles
  • Evaluate student performance and provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Participate in paid instructor training and ongoing professional development
  • Work independently while being supported by a dedicated academic and administrative team

No lesson plans from scratch. We provide curriculum, training, and instructional support.

Minimum Requirements

  • Current valid Registered Nursing (RN) license in the State of Connecticut
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience as RN required, recent experience preferred
  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) and willing to pursue Master's Degree in Nursing or related field within 4 years of hire date; or currently hold an MSN or Master's in related field with BSN required
  • Ability to use common software programs (MS Word/Excel/Outlook etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Great interpersonal skills

Why This Role?

  • No 12-hour shifts
  • Schedule that supports work–life balance
  • Formal and on-the-job training to transition into teaching
  • Make a lasting impact on students’ lives and healthcare careers
  • Extend your nursing career without the physical toll of bedside care

If you’re ready to step away from the floor without stepping away from nursing, this could be the next rewarding chapter of your career.
