Job description

Are you excited to start a career in the dental field? Join our team as an Entry-Level or Experienced Dental Assistant! In this role, you’ll work alongside a licensed dentist, gaining hands-on experience while providing quality care and support to our patients. If you’re looking for a welcoming place to learn and grow, this could be the perfect fit for you!

About the Role

As a Dental Assistant, you’ll support our dentist with various tasks to ensure each patient’s visit is comfortable, efficient, and successful. From preparing instruments, setting up exam rooms, taking X-rays, and assisting during procedures, you’ll be an important part of our patient care team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare for appointments by reviewing charts and setting up rooms before patients arrive

• Assist with patient care, including taking X-rays, applying topical agents, and setting up for various procedures

• Support the dentist during procedures, including passing instruments and helping with four-handed dentistry techniques

• Record patient details like treatment notes and recommendations, and ensure all information is accurate before patient dismissal

• Help maintain a clean and organized workspace by following OSHA protocols, cleaning and reprocessing instruments, and stocking supplies

• Assist with lab tasks and other duties as designated by the supervisor to keep our office running smoothly

Job Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent

• Experience: Six months in a dental setting is preferred, but not required—we’re happy to train the right person!

• Certifications: Must obtain CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Maine Dental Radiographer License before achieving “Regular Employee” status

Physical Requirements

• This position involves some physical tasks, such as:

• Assisting with patient transfers and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds

• Sitting for extended periods and performing repetitive movements

• Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) during your shift to maintain safety standards for you and our patients

Why Join Us?

This is a great opportunity for someone new to dental care to learn and grow in a supportive environment. We’re looking for someone eager to learn, works well in a team, and has a genuine interest in helping others. We offer on-the-job training, a positive workplace culture, and the chance to make a difference in patients’ lives.
