Job Summary
We are seeking a creative, motivated, and responsible student to join our team at the Environmental Humanities Program as an Outreach Assistant. The Environmental Humanities Program trains the next generation of environmental thinkers and leaders towards building a more just and equitable environmental futures. As an Outreach Assistant, you will work closely with the Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator to develop and post content on our social media platforms, following our established communications plan. You will be expected to attend weekly meetings with the Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator and complete tasks according to the communications plan. This position is hybrid, appointed by semester, and will require 10-15 hours of labor per week at $18/hour.
Responsibilities
  • Create content for social media including engaging reels, writing captions for photo posts, and more on various platforms (Instagram, Facebook).
  • Take high-quality photos and videos at program events and upload them to internal storage system using programmatic file naming conventions.
  • Schedule and publish posts using social media management tools.
  • Monitor and respond to comments on social media tools.
  • Repost vetted content on the program's Instagram story on a weekly basis.
  • Follow the communications plan to ensure consistency in messaging and branding.
  • Design promotional event flyers using Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • Create content for and table at outreach events, as needed.
  • Meet with Community Engagement and Outreach Coordinator on a weekly basis.
