Position Details:

  • Job Title: Risk Coordinator
  • Location: Ontario, CA (Corporate Office)
  • Shift Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Pay Rate: $20-$21/HR

Key Responsibilities - Your Impact:

  • Workers' Compensation Claims Management: Efficiently report and manage workers' comp claims to minimize company risk. This involves understanding the California Workers' Compensation system, including initial injury reporting (within 30 days), DWC-1 claim form submission, and navigating the claims investigation and resolution processes.
  • Employee Support & Communication: Serve as a compassionate point of contact for injured employees, guiding them through their Workers' Compensation benefits in California and ensuring they receive appropriate care and support.
  • Safety Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate OSHA logs and perform essential record-keeping tasks related to workplace safety and risk management.
  • Legal Compliance & Subpoena Management: Handle subpoena requests related to claims and ensure strict adherence to all risk management procedures and California labor laws.
  • Risk Analysis & Assessment: Conduct thorough risk submissions for new clients and prospects, maintaining detailed tracking records to proactively identify and address potential hazards.
  • Team Collaboration: Actively contribute to our dedicated safety and risk management team, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

  • Analytical & Critical Thinking: Possess strong analytical abilities to assess risks and critical thinking skills to develop effective solutions.
  • Exceptional Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills are essential for interacting with employees, management, and external partners.
  • Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Google Suite for efficient data management and communication.

As an Entry-Level Risk Coordinator, you will gain hands-on experience with the vital steps of the California Workers' Compensation claim process, which typically includes:

  • Injury Reporting: Ensuring timely reporting of workplace injuries (ideally within 30 days) to the employer.
  • Claim Form (DWC-1) Submission: Facilitating the proper completion and submission of the DWC-1 form, initiating the official claim.
  • Medical Treatment Authorization: Understanding the authorization of initial medical treatment (up to $10,000) while a claim is being investigated.
