Job description

Title: Facilities, Safety, & Security Coordinator
Status: Part-Time May-August, with occasional hours in April, September, October
Location: Onsite
Reports To: Facilities, Safety, & Security Administrator
Department: Facilities, Safety, & Security
Works With: Facilities Department, Health Office, People & Culture, local first responders
Compensation: $22 - $25 per hour
Hours: 15-20/week
Summer Only: Three meals a day, free access to classes, performances, talks, and studio usage
The Facilities, Safety, & Security Department seeks a part-time Coordinator to support its operations. This position is a unique opportunity to experience the performing arts through a new perspective, gaining awareness for the multifaceted needs of live events and venue operations.
Primary duties include project management, utilizing Geographic Information Systems, health and safety inspections, and reporting.
Responsibilities
  • Administration
    • Coordinate product ordering, budget and receipt tracking, and vendor scheduling for the Facilities, Safety, & Security Department
    • Support Facilities Maintenance and Housekeeping staff with administrative activities
  • Project Management
    • Serve as a special project manager for the implementation of a Geographic Information System (GIS) that analyzes and displays campus features, maintenance histories, utilities, and more
    • Collect and handle geospatial data from various technologies and sources
    • Verify and edit GIS data points, ensuring accuracy and field data consistency
    • Operate and maintain GIS equipment
    • Generate data reports, as requested
    • Craft standard operating procedures that may serve as training documents for GIS administrators and end-users, and maintain data integrity
  • Occupational Safety & Health
    • Perform routine safety checks and inspections of first aid kits, GFCIs, fall protection, fire extinguishers, forklifts, and PPE
    • Identify and implement engineering controls to minimize risk and improve employee safety
    • Maintain an up to date log of safety data sheets and chemical inventory
    • Conduct building checks and safety walks of campus
  • Security & Emergency Response
    • Provide emergency response and incident reporting assistance, as necessary
    • Support Safety & Security staff during Spring and Fall performance series

Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to read and interpret maps and specifications
  • Strong organization and documentation skills required
  • Google Suite and spreadsheet experience preferred
  • Candidates with strong a desire to grow in detail-oriented and pragmatic processes will excel in this position
  • Project management, safety inspection, or operations experience a plus
  • Working knowledge of applicable OSHA standards a plus

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONs
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and visitors to the campus.
  • Ability to anticipate complications and solve problems efficiently.
  • Organizational skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Working regularly in wooded areas with exposure to native wildlife including, but not limited to, rodents, ticks and mosquitos
  • Working regularly outdoors in all weather conditions including inclement weather
  • Working a 5-day work week, including late evenings, and weekends.
  • Moving equipment up to 50lbs alone or with assistance
  • Moving through and between multiple locations throughout the entire campus
  • Remaining in a stationary position for extended periods of time
  • Working at heights above 6 feet
  • Ascending and descending straight and step ladders
  • Operating push around or drivable person lifts including at heights
