Job description

Job Summary: The Compliance Associate ensures all DOT qualified employees are in compliance with FMCSA hours of service regulations.
Essential Job Functions:
Build and maintain driver profiles in Geotab and Netradyne
Manage, research, and assign all unidentified driving events
Track and audit all paper logs
Manage uncertified logs and driver log conflicts
Audit fuel charges against driver logs
Answer compliance calls to include: assist drivers with log edits, troubleshoot electronic logging device (ELD) malfunctions and proactively advise drivers on how to avoid violations
Order Geotab and Netradyne parts and assist shops with troubleshooting hardware and software issues
Geotab and Netradyne back office maintenance and administrative duties including building new user profiles and managing assets
Audit and document all hours of service violation and make contact with each driver
Audit all personal conveyance and exception usage
Verify all paperwork is accounted for on drivers not using an ELD
File and save drivers six month history of hours of service violations
Pull and save accident logs and any related reports
Data entry and filing
Provide after-hours support as needed on the compliance evening and weekend hotline (Per On-Call Schedule)
Other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver's license in state of residency with acceptable driving record
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and submit to the company random drug and alcohol program
Proficiency in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Google Workspace
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external staff
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred:
Entry level experience in compliance, safety, or the transportation industry
Knowledge of hours of service, FMCSA, or DOT regulations
Physical Requirements:

Physical Demands: Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment including a computer; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended period. This is mostly a sedentary office classification, although standing in outdoor work areas and walking between terminal, safety lane, and commercial motor vehicles (CMV) operating areas for short periods can be necessary. Finger dexterity is needed to access, enter, and retrieve data using a computer keyboard or calculator, and to operate standard office equipment. Positions in this classification occasionally bend, stoop, kneel, reach push and pull. Employees must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment: The duties of this job are performed in both an office environment, a commercial motor vehicle terminal environment, and outdoors, thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to office/CMV equipment. Exposure to various climate conditions, fumes, dust, odors, oil/grease, and gasses.
