Job description

About the Company
Our client is a venture-backed startup transforming how the government and private sector collaborate to solve some of the world's most complex challenges-starting with national security. Their AI-powered platform streamlines government contracting by surfacing the most relevant grants, awards, and opportunities for innovative companies. Backed by top-tier investors and recently selected for a strategic partnership by the Defense Innovation Unit, they're growing quickly and hiring early-career engineers to help build the next generation of tools in this space.
About the Role
Our client is seeking a full stack engineer who's excited to own meaningful projects from day one. This is an ideal opportunity for a new grad or someone with 1-3 years of experience who's eager to work in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
As an engineer, you'll work across the stack to build and iterate on features used by real customers-including engineers, operators, and business leaders navigating the world of public sector technology. You'll also engage with the founding team, interface directly with users, and have a clear path to impact.
What You'll Do
  • Develop and ship full-stack features across the frontend, backend, and infrastructure
  • Write production-level code primarily in Python and React
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team and company leadership
  • Interface with customers to understand pain points and improve the product
  • Build tools to process, analyze, and display large datasets
  • Contribute to the design of scalable, intuitive software systems
  • Operate with autonomy in a startup environment where speed and ownership matter
What We're Looking For
  • 0-3 years of professional experience (new grads welcome)
  • Strong proficiency in Python and React
  • Familiarity with tools like Django, AWS, Spark, or similar frameworks
  • Solid fundamentals in software engineering and CS principles
  • Great communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
  • Strong sense of initiative and ownership
  • U.S. citizenship (required)
  • Willingness and ability to work on-site in Boston
Bonus Points For
  • Experience with ML, LLMs, or building data pipelines
  • Personal or open-source projects that demonstrate curiosity and technical ability
  • Experience working in startups or early-stage environments
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for user engagement

Why Apply?
This is a unique opportunity to help build software that directly supports national priorities-while growing your career in a fast-moving, high-ownership engineering environment. You'll work side-by-side with experienced engineers and founders, with real room for growth and impact.
