Position Summary: EPS is seeking an entry level Estimator with to assist our sales team with bidding projects. This person will prepare work to be estimated by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and identify labor, material, and time requirements and compute costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements. The ideal candidate has estimating experience and has worked in the electrical industry, however, we are willing to train the right candidate.
Responsibilities
• Prepares estimates by gathering requests for proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
• Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
• Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
• Maintains and improves technical knowledge through training.
• Coordinates with Sales to prepare accurate customer proposals.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Exhibits a professional presentation when dealing with employees, clients, and suppliers.
Qualifications
• Previous experience in a technical estimating role in the electrical industry, preferred
• Knowledge or aptitude of electrical equipment acceptance and maintenance testing services, including high, medium, and low voltage applications.
• Experience or aptitude with a wide variety of electrical apparatus used in the electrical industry, including protection & control equipment, transformers, breakers, and switchgear.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced computer skills with the Microsoft Office Suite programs with emphasis on Excel and Word.
• Experience with budgeting.
• Excellent communications skills.
• Must be proactive and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Physically able to walk large job sites in various kinds of weather.
• Limited potential travel.
Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen due to this being a safety sensitive position.
