Job description

Controls Engineer - NEC experience!

$85000 - $130000 per year | Tulsa, OK | On-site | Permanent

Design the electrical and controls systems behind complex industrial equipment — with real ownership from drawings and PLCs through hazardous-area design.A bit about us:

Our client is an established industrial engineering organization supporting projects that require sophisticated electrical and controls systems in demanding operating environments. The team is continuing to grow and is looking for an engineer who can take genuine ownership of electrical and controls design work.

This is a hands-on engineering position for someone who understands how electrical and control systems must be designed, laid out, and selected for hazardous/classified environments. You will work directly with drawings, layouts, equipment, panels, and project requirements rather than simply reviewing work completed by others.

Why join us?

Why Work Here

Join a growing electrical and controls team of approximately six engineers.

Take meaningful ownership of hands-on electrical and controls design.

Work on technically challenging projects involving hazardous/classified environments.

Gain exposure to electrical layouts, conduit design, panels, junction boxes, PLCs, and industrial control systems.

Apply your knowledge of NEC requirements and hazardous-area classifications to real engineering decisions.

Job Details
  • Industrial electrical engineering/design experience.
  • Hands-on PLC and relay logic experience.
  • Experience designing electrical systems for hazardous/classified environments.
  • Experience with Class I, Division 2 (C1D2) applications.
  • Strong understanding of NEC requirements as they apply to hazardous/classified locations.
  • Hands-on experience developing electrical layouts and conduit drawings.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD for electrical design/layout work.
  • Experience designing or laying out junction boxes and control panels.
Preferred Qualifications
  • NFPA 87 experience.
  • Class I, Division 1 or other hazardous-location experience.
  • Oil & gas, process facility, or other industrial project experience.
  • Experience with explosion-proof and hazardous-location equipment.
  • Experience with electrical and controls systems in industrial facilities.
  • Familiarity with purging and pressurization systems.
