Capital Professional Staffing LLC is conducting a confidential search for a CAD Draftsman / Structural Steel Detailer for a growing industrial fabrication operation located in Tyler, Texas. The company works within structural steel fabrication, construction, energy, industrial, and infrastructure markets.
This is a hands-on CAD drafting and detailing position focused on taking structural or fabrication drawings and developing the individual parts, components, and shop drawings needed for fabrication.

This is a hands-on CAD drafting and detailing position focused on taking structural or fabrication drawings and developing the individual parts, components, and shop drawings needed for fabrication.
Responsibilities
- Review structural, fabrication, and technical drawings provided by customers.
- Create and detail individual parts and assemblies using CAD software.
- Develop shop drawings used by the fabrication team.
- Prepare CAD files that can be used by CNC plasma tables, profiling machines, and other CNC fabrication equipment.
- Work with or convert common industry file formats including STEP, DSTV / NC1, IFC, and other structural model formats.
Qualifications
- Strong working knowledge of CAD drafting or design software.
- Ability to read and understand structural, fabrication, or industrial drawings.
- Ability to translate drawings into individual parts and components for fabrication.
- SolidWorks experience preferred, but not required.
- AutoCAD, Advance Steel, Tekla, SDS2, or comparable CAD/modeling experience will be considered.
- Structural steel, metal fabrication, welding, manufacturing, or industrial experience is highly desirable.
