Job description

Turner Industries Group is looking for a CAD Draftsman to join our Engineering team at our Pipe Fabrication Facility in Port Allen, LA. This position will be responsible for:

  • Creating CAD drawings (Spool sheets) for use in the Pipe Fabrication Shop for fabrication, testing, and the coating of pipe spools.
  • Producing CAD Drawings (Spool sheets) in accordance with customer and internal standards and specification.
  • Producing complete and accurate spool sheets.
  • Performing revisions to previously produced spool sheets based on revised customer isometrics, orthographics, project specifications etc.
  • Having the ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe work environment at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Preferably 1 year of experience in specified skill
  • Experience utilizing CAD software and Excel preferred
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor or Associate degree in CAD, Piping Design, or related field is preferred
  • Pre-employment qualification test if applicable
  • Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills
  • Must be self-directed and detail oriented
  • Proficient in MS Excel
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen, Turner Industries Group Indoctrination, and Job site orientation
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of such individual or others at the workplace
  • "Personal Protective Equipment" (hearing protection, safety glasses, long sleeve shirt, gloves, steel toe boots, etc.) required when in shop/yard areas.

Physical and Mental Involvement:

Employee may be required to do the following: reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; standing; sitting; walking; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction; following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills; planning work; comparing and understanding differences in the size, shape and form of lines, figures and objects; picturing and evaluating solid objects from drawings or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked; following oral and/or written directions, plans and blueprints; reading; writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards.

Location: climate-controlled office environment at fabrication facility, shop walks may be possible

Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: possible uneven ground level, obstructed pathways

Climate/Environment Conditions at Job Site: predominately indoor climate, exposure to various noise levels caused by tools, machinery equipment etc., while in shop areas.
