**Who We Are**
With approximately 32 properties that include over 6,000 apartments, Goldfarb Properties is a family-owned and managed business, offering the finest apartments across five diverse regions. We are dedicated to providing an elevated living experience for our residents through our premium product and our promise to make a positive impact on our neighborhoods through our community-driven initiatives.
We are fairly particular in the company we keep, including our team. As a community-focused business, we partner with people who share our values proudly. We are seeking full-time Unarmed Security Guards for our mid-rise residential apartment buildings, located in Far Rockaway, NY to assist in providing the highest level of service to our residents!
Our Security Guards provide front desk security, access control, patrol interior and exterior buildings and parking areas to provide protection to residents, guests and company employees. Security Guards also protect our properties against fires, theft, vandalism, and illegal or unauthorized entry. Security Guards are responsible for the cleanliness of entrance areas and lobby of each building, and for other related duties as required.
Responsibilities of Security Guard:
  • Ensures that all building interiors, property perimeters, door locks, alarms, and entrance/exit gates are in working order and are opened and secured when necessary.
  • Views monitor screens and remains alert to movement on-screen for authorized and unauthorized individuals and vehicles.
  • Stands at main entrance post and maintains orderly and secure flow of individuals and vehicles entering and exiting the building.
  • Examines credentials of contractors and announce visitors to residents.
  • Directs trespassers to leave the property after issuing verbal warnings regarding disorderly conduct, loitering, unauthorized entry, etc. Summon police assistance without delay when necessary.
  • Check vehicles in parking areas for proper parking authorization and issues warnings to prevent the use of these areas by unauthorized individuals and vehicles.
  • Assists other internal departments as directed, including maintenance and rental departments.
  • Accepts packages from delivery services, such as FedEx and UPS, for temporary storage and signs over same upon delivery to residents. Packages may weigh up to 70 lbs.
  • Accurately completes all necessary logs, legibly or via computer entry, to include shift logs, package logs, elevator logs, etc.
Requirements of Security Guard:
  • Possess and maintain a valid and current NYS Security Guard License throughout their employment
  • At least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Available to work dayshift, afternoon shift, and overnight shift, to include weekends and holidays.
  • Demonstrates effective writing, oral and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
  • Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with MS Office
  • Must be extremely reliable and punctual.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations at the client site calmly and efficiently
  • Visual acuity and hearing ability to observe and otherwise obtain information from all relevant sources
  • Ability to perform general physical activities that require considerable use of arms, legs, and/or moving the entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, sitting, standing for long periods of time, and handling of materials (up to 70 lbs.).
