Typical tasks include carrying materials, cleaning up job sites, removing old roofing, and learning to use basic tools and safety equipment. Entry-level roofers are often trained on the job and gradually take on more complex responsibilities as they gain experience. This position requires good physical fitness, the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and a willingness to learn. No formal education is typically required, but a high school diploma or equivalent can be helpful.
