Job description


Department: Public Safety

Organizational Unit: School Crossing Guards

Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Part Time

Open Until Filled.

$16.75 hourly. North Area/Port St. John. Part-time/2 hours daily (mornings and afternoons) on school days. Performs entry-level protective service work ensuring the safe and orderly crossing of school-age children at his/her assigned location.

REQUIREMENTS: No formal education, training, or experience is required. Experience as a crossing guard or other work with elementary school-age children is preferred.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be of good moral character as determined by a personal background investigation. Must be able to pass the Brevard County Performance Checklist for School Crossing Guards prior to assuming School Crossing Guard duties. Must have a working home telephone or personal cell phone. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster, thatmay threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
