ABOUT US

Bay Crane is the leader in crane rental, specialized transportation, and heavy lifting solutions. With decades of experience and a commitment to safety, reliability, and excellence, we support some of the largest and most complex projects across the Midwest.

We’re growing in Franklin, and we’re looking for a Service Writer to join our team and help keep our fleet running at its best.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you detail-oriented, organized, and ready to take on an important support role in the heavy equipment industry? As a Service Writer at Bay Crane Midwest, you’ll play a key part in our service operations—helping manage work orders, coordinate with field employees, and ensure our equipment stays compliant and road-ready. This is a great entry-level opportunity to build your career in service operations and grow with a company that values its people.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Open, update, and close service work orders, keeping records accurate and up to date.
  • Prepare, track, and close purchase orders for parts and supplies.
  • Support the Regional Parts Manager in maintaining parts inventory and records.
  • Help schedule and forecast service needs to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Work with field staff to keep our fleet DOT-compliant and road-legal.
  • Generate reports on service activity, parts usage, and work order status.
  • Communicate with mechanics, managers, and field employees to keep operations moving.
  • Provide clerical and administrative support as needed.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Experience: Office, service, or clerical experience preferred. (Experience in automotive, construction equipment, or heavy equipment industries is a big plus!)
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with service management or ERP systems is helpful.
  • Strengths: Excellent organization, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Team Player: Able to work collaboratively and take direction from managers.

WHY JOIN BAY CRANE?

  • Be part of a respected, growing company that leads the industry.
  • Gain valuable experience in the heavy equipment and crane services field.
  • Work with a supportive team that values safety, professionalism, and teamwork.
  • Opportunities for growth and advancement.

APPLY TODAY!

If you’re ready to take the next step in your career and join a company built on strength, reliability, and service, we’d love to hear from you.
