Woodyard Operator I
Full-time, Permanent
On-site
Location: Morehouse, LA

As a Wood Yard Operator, you will be responsible for operating a log crane, chipper/debarker, and/or mobile equipment at a wood pellet manufacturing facility. This role also involves performing equipment maintenance and handling administrative duties to support Wood Yard operations.
Your Day-to-Day as a Woodyard Operator:

  •  Must be able to operate and maintain equipment, including log cranes, wheel loaders, knuckle booms, skid steers, and man lifts.
  • Cross-train in all applicable heavy equipment operations as needed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively anticipate and diagnose problems and perform routine or preventive maintenance.
  • Carry out routine administrative functions and utilize checklists to maintain inventory and production reports.
  • Perform housekeeping duties as requested and ensure that designated areas are clean and free of safety hazards.

What you’ll bring: 
To excel in this vital role, you’ll need:

  • Do you have experience in wood or fibre procurement, or in the forestry industry? 
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.  
  • You must have a minimum of 2 years of experience operating industrial equipment.  
  • Ability to adapt to working both as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.  
  • Must be computer literate, capable of performing basic tasks such as sending emails and reviewing work documentation.
