Position Summary:
Elgin Community College is seeking a Groundskeeper III holding a valid Illinois Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). This role offers a stable, local routine combining campus landscaping, equipment operation, and seasonal snow removal with short local transport duties using college-owned CDL vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
• Campus Turf & Grounds Care: Lawn maintenance, tree trimming, planting, aerating, and slit seeding across campus.
• CDL Vehicle Operations: Drive college-owned CDL vehicles for local material pick-ups, project needs, and campus deliveries; assist with State inspection compliance.
• Seasonal & Infrastructure Care: Parking lot maintenance, crack sealing, pothole repairs, sidewalk salting, and winter snow removal.
• Facility Support: Assist with campus sign updates, equipment staging, and minor facility/furniture moves.
Qualifications & Requirements:
• License: Active Illinois Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class A or B) with Air Brake Endorsement (Required).
• DOT Compliance: Ability to pass and maintain pre-employment DOT drug panel requirements and a clean MVR.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in groundskeeping, heavy equipment operation, or local transport.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
