Job description


General Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Process Engineering Manager, the process engineering technician will perform duties to assist the process engineering team in completing engineering tasks associated with the design and detailing of company projects.


Requirements:

This position requires high proficiency in the use of SolidWorks or current drafting software, the ability to read and understand blueprints, the ability to communicate technical information to shop supervisory personnel and adequate math skills.


Education and Training

  • Associate degree in mechanical engineering technology, applied sciences, or process technology.
  • High school diploma with vocational or on-the-job training in some entry-level roles.
  • Certifications in quality control or safety (such as Six Sigma) are a plus.


Specific Duties:

  • To contribute to a team atmosphere to solve customer design requirements.
  • To prepare concept drawings and technical information for sales, for customer discussions and for quoting purposes.
  • To effectively communicate design issues with sales and manufacturing personnel and/or customer contacts.
  • To perform calculation analysis where needed in the design stage of projects.
  • To transform conceptual design drawings into detailed manufacturing drawings in a timely manner based on currently used standards.
  • Preparing job packages in accordance with current company procedures.
  • To incorporate approved manufacturing changes into “As Built” drawings.
  • Provide technical support to shop supervisors to help meet manufacturing timelines cost-effectively.
  • To periodically assist Planning in the processing of projects.
  • To provide on-site technical assistance to sales personnel.
