Job Summary
Avon Manufacturing is a custom manufacturer of steel molds for the precast concrete industry. Each mold is made to order based on custom designs. We are looking for an experienced welder/fabricator to work with a team or independently on manufacturing molds from blueprints from start to finish.
Job Responsibilities
  • Embody a strong safety culture by displaying and enforcing CRH/Oldcastle safety policies and procedures
  • Steel fabrication of heavy gauge materials and components under the supervision of Lead Welder and Foreman
  • Fitting, setting, and installing fabricated structures
  • Maintain shop housekeeping procedures to ensure safe and well-organized work areas
  • Overhead crane use, to include safety and proper rigging is necessary
  • Operating a variety of metalworking equipment (plasma cutters, oxyfuel torch, grinders, welders, drills, punches)

Job Requirements
  • At least 1-3 years of welding/fabricating experience or successful completion of a welding trade school program
  • Capable of reading shop blueprints
  • Hand and power tool experience
  • Ability to read tape measure and perform shop math in order to calculate/copy measurements and angles
  • Punctuality and reliability
  • The ability to stand/sit/kneel/crouch
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
