Job Summary:  Day Shift 6:00 - 2:30pm

 The Assembler; Levels I, II, and III performs repetitive manual assembly and/or machine items for the production assembly operations to mass-produce components or to assemble those components into completed products. The Assembler follows established procedures to ensure assembly meets all ISO requirements, stated tolerances, and required inspection criteria by performing the following duties.

Level I: Entry Level: Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Perform assembly using hand or power tools for fitting, filing, reaming, riveting, crimping, swaging, adjusting, and inspection. 
  • Detect defective and incorrect parts and request replacement from Team Lead or Manager. 
  • Use simple measuring gauges, scales, calipers, dial indicators, universal load testing fixtures. 
  • Performs on-line and in-process visual inspection of products to ensure they meet specifications per Traveler and procedure instructions. 
  • Operates various assembly machinery. 
  • Stocks assembly parts as needed to maintain continuous assembling of items. 
  • Ensures products assembled meets quality standards and reports defects or problems to their Team Lead or Manager. 
  • Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the Team Lead or Manager. 
  • Participate as a team member and work to continually improve all aspects of our business. 
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and work instructions. 
  • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations. 
  • Completes tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with some supervision. 
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required. 

Level II: Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Level I Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Mastered basic assembly-type functions, using hand or power tools for two to five production items. 
  • Work from assembly drawings, identify parts, and predetermined assembly sequence documentation. 
  • Completes tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with minimal supervision. 

 Level III: Essential Duties and Responsibilities   

  • Level II Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Disassembly, repair, and reassemble of returned or salvaged units. 
  • Assist in Set Up of Equipment 
  • Use a variety of light machines and tools such as spot welder, drill press, arbor press, air and hydraulic presses and simple die sets, riveting machine as well as hand tools. 
  • Willingness to train and mentor new employees. 
  • Completes tasks as directed by manufacturing schedules with little to no supervision.

Level I: ENTRY LEVEL: Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or GED 
  • Some assembly experience is desired but not required. 
  • Or experience in a fast paced, structured environment (fast food) 
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools and power tools is preferred but not required. 
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to interact and communicate in a professional manner with all levels of employees. 
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand assembly drawings and documentation. 
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening. 

Level II: Qualifications 

  • Level I Qualifications 
  • 2+ years of experience in assembly, manufacturing, or fast paced environments (fast food) 
  • Ability to use measuring tools, such as measuring tape, calipers, etc... 

Level III: Qualifications 

  • Level II Qualifications 
  • 3+ years of experience in assembly or manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in the use of light machines, such as spot welder, drill press, arbor press, oven, air and hydraulic presses. 

Working Conditions 

Work is performed in a manufacturing facility, with drill presses, metal cutting, and other industrial equipment. The employee is regularly exposed to vibrations. Noise levels fluctuate from moderate to high requiring ear protection. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must wear appropriate personal safety protection equipment. This equipment will vary based upon the work location and type of work being performed but often will include safety glasses, closed-toed/heeled shoes, and sometimes may include protective clothing. 


Physical Requirements: All Levels 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: 

  • Stand, sit, walk and reach for long periods of time. 
  • Repetitive hand and wrist motions while handling large and small parts. 
  • Constantly and repetitively assembly products, use of light machinery. 
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, reach above and below desk level, talk, hear and communicate accurate information 
  • Observe details at a close range. 
  • Moves items and products weighing up to 30 pounds across short distances. 
  • Easily move from place to place in a manufacturing facility. 
  • Adhere to all safety & quality requirements. 
  • Ability to pass pre-employment & random drug screenings.
