Job description

Force TK has an immediate opening for a Truck/Trailer Lift Gate Install & Repair Technician at our Elkridge facility. We are looking for experienced and or entry-level techs to work in our service shop. Strong technical/mechanical background is a must. Experience with truck body and trailer repair is a plus. We will train the right individual who is motivated and ready to learn. We are looking for techs that are enthusiastic about learning and excelling in the field.
The position is full-time with benefits. Overtime is available, especially during the summer months. Salary based on experience from entry-level to Master tech. Healthcare, 401k, Dental, and Vacation are offered to all full-time employees.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of the truck body, trailer, and lift gates as needed.
  • Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all components.
  • Positive interface with service writers, leadership team, parts department, drivers, vendors, and customers.
  • Keep paperwork updated and handed in upon completion.
  • Meet requirements for certifications.
  • Communicate effectively with customers.
  • Work safely and follow company safety standards.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Able to abide by and enforce the policies and procedures of Thermo King West/Chesapeake.

Required Skills:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Technical degree or certification a plus).
  • Must have your own set of general tools and knowledge on using said tools to complete repairs as required.
  • Welding experience is a plus but not required.
  • Liftgate experience is a plus but not required.
  • Use computers for web-based training and daily job functions.
  • Must be physically able to lift and work with no restrictions.
  • Solid written & communication skills.
  • Reliable.
  • Must have a clean driving record, and pass a drug screening before employment.
  • Ability to work independently in a field service environment, while displaying a professional and confident relationship with the customer.
