Medical Laboratory Technician or Technologist

Regional West Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Medical Laboratory Technician or Technologist to support patient care through accurate, timely laboratory testing. This role plays a critical part in diagnosis and treatment by performing complex laboratory analyses, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining reliable test results for the healthcare team.

A Day in the Life of

Your day begins in the lab, where precision and focus are essential. After reviewing priorities and calibrating instruments, you jump into performing laboratory testing across multiple departments, ensuring each result meets strict quality and accuracy standards.

Throughout your shift, you're actively monitoring quality control, maintaining instrumentation, and documenting all testing activities, making sure every process aligns with established laboratory policies and CLIA requirements. When results fall outside expected ranges, you investigate discrepancies, troubleshoot equipment, and take corrective action or escalate concerns as needed.

You play a key role in patient care by recognizing and responding to abnormal test results, ensuring timely communication and proper documentation so providers can make informed clinical decisions.

In addition to testing, you maintain your clinical skills by collecting patient specimens, including venipuncture and capillary draws, following strict identification and handling protocols to ensure safety and specimen integrity.

As a collaborative team member, you communicate with providers, nurses, and fellow lab staff while supporting workflow efficiency and maintaining a high standard of patient-focused service. By the end of your shift, your attention to detail and commitment to excellence have helped deliver accurate results that directly impact patient diagnoses and outcomes.
