Position Title
Oncology Infusion Nurse (RN)Days - Part TimeBriarcliff III Office BuildingPosition Summary / Career Interest:Briarcliff: Open Monday - Friday
Work 3 days one week and 2 days the next week for a total of 40 hours in 2 week period.
The Oncology Nurse provides professional nursing care through assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
  • Collects and analyzes comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation to determine the diagnosis or issues. a) Performs primary and secondary patient assessments and documents in the medical record accurately and timely. b) Documents changes and omissions of the identified plan.
  • Communicates systematic report to other care providers.
  • Coordinates care delivery; utilizes resources to promote the continuum of care.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill in all aspects of IV therapy and hydration
  • Employs strategies to promote health in a safe environment.
  • Evaluates and documents progress toward the attainment of outcomes.
  • Identifies expected interventions and outcomes for an individualized plan of care and communicates effectively with patient, family and other team members.
  • Implements the plan of care in a safe, timely and appropriate manner.
  • Manages patient care based on knowledge of cancer, cancer treatment, and side effects of such treatment.
  • Uses quality and evidence based practice to deliver and improve care.
  • Works closely with more experienced clinicians for guidance and supervision.
  • Infusion/Treatment Depts: demonstrates knowledge and skills in chemotherapy/biotherapy and blood products.
  • Radiation Oncology Depts: demonstrates knowledge of radiation therapies and procedures, including side effect and symptom managment. Demonstrates ability to triage patients and coordinate with provider to ensure care needs are met.
  • Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
  • High School Graduate
  • Associate Degree Nursing Must complete BSN within 5 years of hire

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Bachelor Degree Nursing
  • 1 or more years med surg/acute care
  • 1 or more years oncology experience

Required Licensure and Certification
  • Basic Life Support Heartsaver (BLS HS) (Non-Clinical) - American Heart Association (AHA) within 14 days
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing Registered Nurse license required for state the clinic is located in, at the time of hire (Kansas or Missouri). Must obtain additional state license, to possess both Kansas and Missouri licensing within 6 months of hire.
  • Staff hired prior to 2/1/2024 are required to obtain a multistate RN license from the state in which they live at the time of their next RN license renewal by 3/31/2026.

Preferred Licensure and Certification
  • Chemo Certification - Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Certification preferred for Infusion/Treatment departments
