Job description

Looking for a seasonal opportunity where you can make a real impact? Spend your season with Alaska Mill & Feed, helping customers care for their gardens, pets, and animals during our busiest time of year. We're hiring a Small Package Labeling Assistant to assist with effectively and efficiently label bags and containers in a timely manner. This position will focus on producing packaging that is attractive and functional in a supportive environment where you'll stay active and learn something new every day.
This is a position in a working manufacturing warehouse and is not an office job
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
  • Apply labels to bags and containers accurately and efficiently and demonstrate initiative by seeking additional duties when assigned work is complete.
  • Bags, sew, seal, and pack various products manufactured in small packaging.
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks to help maintain a safe, organized work area.
  • Ability to complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes, and continuously develop skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate effectively, and relay information clearly with an emphasis on building positive professional relationships.
  • Practice punctual and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Entry-level position, no prior experience required.
  • Receive and follow instructions which can be furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Physical ability to stand, bend, stoop and kneel frequently.
  • Lift, carry, push and pull up to 25 lbs.
  • Perform tasks while sitting for an extended period of time.
  • Work indoors in varying conditions in a dust filled noisy environment.
  • Willing to work in a non-smoking facility,
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check as a condition of employment

SCHEDULE
This is an in-person seasonal position; 32- 40 hours per week. Shifts are generally scheduled between 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Qualified applicants must be available to work occasional Saturdays as needed.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits also include paid sick leave and employee discounts.
