What does an entry level video game reviewer do?

An entry level video game reviewer plays and evaluates video games, then writes or records reviews to inform potential players about the game's quality, features, and overall experience. They typically focus on aspects like gameplay, graphics, story, sound, and replay value, and may also consider technical performance. Entry level reviewers often start by contributing to blogs, small websites, or YouTube channels to build a portfolio, and may work as freelancers or interns before advancing to more established roles.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an entry level video game reviewer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Entry Level Video Game Reviewer, you need strong writing skills, a solid understanding of gaming mechanics, and a passion for video games, typically demonstrated through a portfolio or relevant coursework. Familiarity with content management systems, basic video editing tools, and gaming platforms is often required.
