Job description

Position Summary

What will the work look like for me?

Joining the Daktronics team is a great opportunity to work with our latest technology - Camino. Camino is a next-generation graphics platform that provides real-time motion graphics capabilities similar to live-to-air (character generator) CG systems. Professional teams worldwide use this technology to inform and entertain their fans. As a Camino Implementation Engineer, you will help deploy engaging experiences for audiences worldwide at our client's iconic destinations! 

This role focuses on client interaction and will ensure the successful delivery of the Camino project. Responsibilities include testing and qualification, documentation, content delivery and implementation, system configuration set-up, and client training. This position requires close collaboration with other professional services groups, including creative services control systems specialists and applications engineers, and will support Daktronics CSS on projects where they perform Camino implementations or training. 

Pre-Delivery: 

  • Work with end user and customer teams to understand show and production workflows, goals, and expectations.
  • Test graphics to verify timelines, templates, logic, and playback align with specifications. 
  • Collaborate with Creative Services, Solutions Engineers, or Motion Designers for project direction. 
  • Provide project-specific guidance to Control System Specialists on assigned projects. 
  • Participate in team meetings to stay informed on project details and timelines. 
  • Document project details, including style, logic, and operational instructions for users. 
  • Design, create, and fabricate Camino Content projects/templates to meet demand. 
  • Perform additional duties as required. 

Client Delivery: 

  • Understand the integration of developed content with Daktronics control systems and client data ecosystems. 
  • Set up and provision Daktronics control equipment for Camino content playback. 
  • Implement Camino projects, script Display Studio buttons, and automate control triggers. 
  • Edit Camino content based on client feedback and resolve on-site issues. 
  • Train clients on Camino content operation and editing, both in-person and remotely. 
  • Adapt training methods to suit client needs and build strong customer relationships. 
  • Document system configurations and create tailored support resources for each client. 
  • Develop comprehensive documentation and site-specific training materials for both internal and external users. 
  • Provide project guidance in collaboration with control system specialists when they are implementing on-site. 
  • Be a point person/escalation point for the CSS group for successful Camino implementations. 

Where is this opportunity located? 

Position has opportunity to work from a U.S. based home office. This position is open to candidates eligible to work in the United States.

What are the pay and perks?

The typical hiring range for this position is $80,000 to $120,000 annually. Please note that the high end of this pay range is reserved for applicants in high cost of living locations. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation.

Qualifications

To be considered for Camino Implementation Applications Engineer, we require the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design/arts, video production, broadcasting, media studies, computer science, engineering, or a technical related field is required. 
  • Experience with Broadcast graphics, 3D environment systems and/or non-linear editing is preferred (ex. Ross XPression, Chryon Prime, Unreal Engine).
  • Experience with Daktronics Live and Show products is preferred. 
  • Ability to quickly understand these tools for the purpose of training others and creating documentation is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and graphics applications is a plus. 
  • Knowledge of coding or logic generation of events based on present state conditions and next state conditions is a plus. 
  • Ability and desire to learn and teach others. 
  • Experience with sports venue productions and broadcast graphics workflows. 
  • Prefer experience with control rooms and live event production. 
  • Knowledge of Daktronics products, hardware, and software used in the live event productions. 
  • Capacity for animation and choreography of movement regarding elements and objects within a 2D or 3D space. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Solutions-focused problem solver. 
  • Work effectively as a team member assisting when and where needed. 
  • Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment. 
  • Organized and detail-oriented, strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Physical requirements include the ability to work at a variety of heights, ability to lift and carry computers, control equipment and similar items up to 50 pounds. Ability to distinguish and identify wires.
  • Comfortable working from a home office location.
  • The selected individual must be able to travel by air and ground and comply with the Daktronics Driver Eligibility Policy to begin and maintain employment. This requirement will be verified through a motor vehicle record (MVR) check conducted in accordance with applicable federal, state, provincial, and local laws.
  • Fluent in English, written and verbal.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
