Advanced Veterinary Medical Center is urgently hiring an Evening Kennel Assistant to join our growing veterinary team in El Sobrante, California.
We are a fast-paced, multi-doctor veterinary hospital open 7 days a week and dedicated to providing exceptional medical care and compassionate service to our patients and clients. We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a team-focused environment and is passionate about animal care.
This is an entry-level position. Previous veterinary experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate who is eager to learn and grow within the veterinary field. Weekend availability is required, and hours may expand over time.
Position Overview
As a Kennel Assistant, you will play an essential role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our patients while supporting the veterinary team with daily hospital operations. This position is ideal for someone who is motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a high-energy clinical environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist doctors and technicians with daily hospital tasks and animal handling.
  • Clean and sanitize kennels, runs, treatment areas, exam rooms, and surgery areas.
  • Provide clean bedding, fresh water, and litter pans for patients.
  • Feed hospitalized pets and assist with administering medications as directed.
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, laundry, towels, gowns, and equipment.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain cleanliness throughout the hospital and grounds.
  • Follow daily disinfection and sanitation protocols.
  • Monitor hospitalized pets and report changes in condition or behavior to the medical team.
  • Restock hospital supplies and maintain organized work areas.
  • Assist with patient monitoring during anesthesia procedures when needed.
  • Support the team with additional duties as assigned.
