Job Opportunity: 

BHSI has an exciting opportunity to join our growing Transactional Liability team in the New York City office as an Analyst. The Transactional Liability team provides insurance in connection with Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), including Representations and Warranties Insurance and Tax Insurance. In this role, you will collaborate with senior members of the underwriting team to assist with M&A deals seeking Representations and Warranties Insurance. This is an entry-level position and a unique opportunity to gain in-depth exposure to M&A deals and the insurance industry.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Managing a consistent stream of M&A deal opportunities that contemplate the use of transactional liability insurance.
  • Supporting underwriters with the research and analysis of company data, including reviewing financial statements, background information on targets and industries, and acquisition related documents.
  • Ensuring that deals move forward efficiently and in accordance with deadlines, through coordination with insurance brokers and lawyers.
  • Tracking M&A deal activity and status, policies bound and issued, and subjectivities using internal tools and systems.
  • Preparing quotes and policy documents for the insurance of M&A deals.
  • Engaging with insurance brokers, lawyers and clients to establish lasting relationships that contribute to success.
  • Attending industry events and gatherings.

 Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

  • Strong preference for 1-3 years of full-time, professional work experience in corporate settings, including legal, insurance, finance, accounting or other commercial/business sectors
  • Bachelor’s degree, paralegal degree/certification or equivalent training or experience.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interest in M&A transactions, capital markets and related legal, financial and insurance dynamics

The base salary range for this position in New York is $75,000 to $90,000, along with annual bonus eligibility. Total compensation for a candidate is determined by their relevant skills, location, and experience.
